When I told Sean I had decided on the name, he said he really didn't care anymore and whatever I want to do with the last names is fine (and he meant it, he wasn't being dramatic). Maybe I will go with Holloway-Purvis...it seems to go smoother. Oh well, anyway he is definatly giving me lots of time to think about it!

Not that anyone cares, but I really like the hyphenated name idea! When I was a teacher and students had hyphenated names (this was in the Bay Area, so lots of students had more than one last name), it subconsciously reminded me that this kid was part of a family, and that both parents must be equally involved. Not that the last part was always necessarily true, but that's part of what it communicated to me. And I don't recall any of the kids ever wishing they had a short name, or ever trying to use one name rather than both.
