Teething SUCKS!

Forget colic--just when you think you're out of the woods, in comes TEETHING!!!!!!!!!!!!! AHHHH!!!!! It's AWFUL! So his tooth is out, and growing, so you would THINK it wouldn't be that painful anymore but nooooooooo!!!! It's worse than ever!!! His night sleep is so broken because he wakes up every hour or two screeching in pain and biting on his hands and crying with lots of tears. It breaks my heart! And he HATES Orajel. He screams louder and arches his back like we are stabbing him in the mouth with a knife. One of us has to hold down his arms and body while the other one forces his mouth open to give it to him. The face he makes is priceless. I mean...um...very sad...
hehehe
Hey! I know it's helping him! He just REALLY hates cherry flavored Orajel. I don't blame him, he had a pacifier in his mouth after we gave it to him and he dropped it on the carpet. So, I picked it up and popped it in my mouth to get any fibers off and my mouth went numb where the pacifier touched it. And it did taste awful! Ugh! I had to wash out my mouth. Poor baby! But it works! He is sleeping now. He is ok during the day, he can deal with the pain. But at night, it's awful. Sean and I switch turns at night and we are still both so exhausted come morning. Matt just naps more.
But, it's really exciting! His tooth is so cute!!
And, he stands wonderfully now by himself holding onto something. It doesn't have to be something he wraps his hands around either, like the crib bar or top of the playpen--he is fine on tabletops and stuff of that nature too. And he is crawling normally now. A couple of nights ago he just decided he would crawl right and he has been ever since. Now when he is not tired he does laps around his crib.
Anyway, I have been super busy with work and everything, and Sean is finally back! Sadly though, he has drill next weekend! How lame! They only let him home for one week! Luckily Joey agreed to watch him. I know my mother in law would if I asked her but she wouldn't be happy about it! She needs a weekend off. She said he tired her out! And no wonder--in a strange place he didn't want to sleep, he wanted to explore! At least when Joey comes over Matt is in familiar surroundings and easily goes down for a nap in his own crib.
Anyway, I have to go. The Matt Clock is counting down. I already ate breakfast AND had coffee-now I am going to test fate and see if I can take a shower before he wakes up. Oooo...the suspense!

Teeth!!! Er...tooth.

Yay! Matt cut his first tooth!!!! It is just piercing the surface, but it is sharp! It is in the middle, on the bottom. It looks like a cut. Now I see why they call it "cutting" a tooth. Never understood that one. AND--he stands wonderfully holding onto something--I can walk away. He also can pull himself to standing when he feels like it. He is ALSO crawling like crazy! Well...kinda. He is starting to crawl the traditional way, but his preferred method of transport is by getting in the crawling position and then putting his legs behind him, dragging himself a few inches, getting up, getting down, dragging, etc. It's actually pretty fast. Too fast. That little hellion. SO--I heard those rubber ends on the door stops were a choking hazard, so while Matt was crawling around the room I went to take it off but it wouldn't budge! So, I decided that if I couldn't get it off, he couldn't. WRONG! 2 min later he was across the room with it in his hands on a fast track to his mouth. GRRRR!!!!!!!
By the way, Jana came over and we had dinner and waited for the UPS/DHL guy--and he never showed!!! So, no phone for me. Which means I have to stay home all day tomorrow waiting! Another day wasted. :-(.
Oh by the way, this morning I went to WIC and got more vouchers--yay! While I was there they weighed and measured him--he is 17 and something pounds--and 27 1/2 inches. Again, average weight, above average height. Tall and skinny. I knew it!
Well, not much else really to report. I cleaned some more and finally finished the laundry. I also organized my linen cabinet...yay.
It sucks being stuck at home, but then it doesn't. I don't spend money, and I clean. But it also makes me do things like rocking out with Matt and having him play air guitar rock god,

and running around the house playing peekaboo like a 3 year old. But--he has fun, and so do I. And he sleeps well :-P.
Ok, that's all for now. Still haven't found my camera charger. It has SOME juice, but I am saving that for when Matt does something really really cute.
I'll post tomorrow hopefully with pictures and a new phone!

Stacking fun thingies!

This will be quick. I went to run errands with Joey and ended up going to the mall--to KB Toys. And I found a really cheap, really awesome toy for Matt. He loves it! They're stackable cup thingies. They can stack, go in each other and turn into balls. They also come with a little jingle-y ball you can put inside or on top when they're stacked. Oh. My. God. Matthew LOVES them! Just goes to show that simplicity is better sometimes. It doesn't always have to be electronic or light up. He likes these more than any toy he has, and the ball encourages him to crawl around when nothing else will. Very awesome! So, of course, here are some cute pics:

Ooo..camera...

why are you disturbing my play time?

see how I ripped apart this tower? Yeah. Take a hint.

BUBBLESSSSS!!!!!

ooo...shiny popping things

My crawl ball!!! (My current favorite)

yay! I trapped the purple pieces!

And now I will eat the rest until the purple pieces squeal!!!! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Cute! He really likes them. I stacked them for him, put him on the ground, and put the stack in front of him. He played with them for a long time until he was tired. He STILL was playing, but since he needed to eat before his nap, I stopped him. Cool though. All the pieces roll, so he crawls after them.
Ok, going to go now.
Can't wait for my new phone!!!!

evil phone

So for all of you out there who have been trying to call me--my phone decided to go on strike!!!

GRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So lame! It constantly cycles through turning on and off and the sprint logo and is just dumb. It ruined my day! I am only two weeks away from my cool $150 upgrade! (where I get $150 off a phone). So, I called Sprint and after a whole bunch of stuff, they gave it to me 2 weeks early, gave me a cool phone for cheap, and waived the activation/shipping fee. So my new phone will arrive monday!
This is my new phone:

So until then, sorry! No calls from me. :-(
anyway, Sean came back yesterday! He has to leave again tomorrow morning, but he gets to go on a ship! Yay for him! Hope he has fun. Anyway, not much else to post, just thought that was worth mentioning.

Mucky Monday

Today has just been one of those days where I promised myself I would clean the house and get a million things done, and I didn't do anything. Ok well, I went to the lunch buffet at Pizza Hut with Joey and went to the new Wal-Mart. Woo hoo. So here are some pictures I took out of boredom.

Why, hello there. Didn't see you come in.

Excuse me? You say you DON'T have the sales report ready?

Oh. My. God. I could kill you right now.

Please leave before I change my mind.

AHHHHHH!!!

Did you know people paid money for me?

It's true. Now pick up this rope and throw it. Or something.
Well, since I am not going to clean without motivation, I am going to make something yummy for dinner. Some baby-back ribs, perhaps?

We'll see....

Friday the 13th

I am not normally superstitious. I may joke, but I really don't believe in things like throwing salt over your right shoulder, or not walking under ladders, that black cats are evil and you should not let them cross your path, and especially not in Friday the thirteenth. Until yesterday. Until my best friend got mauled by a black cat requiring 4 stitches not an inch from her eye, a black eye, a nasty bite, and many many scratches. Cats do not normally attack. They usually only do that when cornered. Usually they scratch or bite to get the person to let go so they could run away, but this one turned around in Jana's arms, latched onto her face with all four paws and began to give her a very memorable Friday the thirteenth.
Sean is gone. I am super tired! I will post more tomorrow. Just thought it was worth mentioning.
Oh, I guess I forgot to mention as Jana was cowering on the floor, blood gushing from various head wounds, the lady held her cat and asked if we could still groom it.

Work!

Today was my first day back at work in 2 weeks. It sucked leaving Matt and Sean after spending so much time with them. Luckily today was a good day at work. No crazy dogs. On other news--WE GOT THE COMPUTER ROOM DONE! YAY!!!

The bedroom is actually--oh my god--a BED ROOM! Where the main focus is the BED! I haven't had a room without a computer in it since I was like 14! Tonight will be my first night without a computer...let's see if those feng shui people know what they're talking about. Tomorrow is Sean's last day here before he leaves for 2 weeks. It is going to be AWFUL shuttling Matt around to many different babysitters while I work. He is not going to be a happy camper :-(.
Well anyway, going to relax and enjoy tonight. Have a crappy day lined up for tomorrow.
Goodnight!

Vacation

Just got back from visiting family in New Hampshire/Connecticut. It was nice. As some of you may or may not know, my grandpa David Holloway passed away from a long struggle with brain cancer a few days before our arrival, but we were able to just barely make it to the graveside memorial. The church services were on the Friday after our arrival. Although I am sad he is gone, especially since I really wanted him to meet his first great-grandchild, I am glad he does not have to suffer anymore. During the services, a beautiful dragonfly flew around and hovered near the casket
for a few moments, then flew away. It was very moving, very spiritual, and was the only dragonfly I saw that day. The priest/monk said it was a very good sign and stood for rebirth.
Besides that, it was nice for Sean and Matt to finally meet the rest of my family. Both grandmas were thrilled to meet their great-grandson, and he was passed around and cuddled by many loving people.
We enjoyed being around so much beautiful nature. We liked it so much, we went on a few walks. Here is Matt sleeping after one:

Nothing like the sounds of nature to put you to sleep...

Here's Sean. Betcha didn't know he had so many freckles! Very cute if I do say so myself.

Matt and I in a hammock at my Uncle Bruce's house at 4th of July, just after a feeding.

It got cold at night and it was rainy. Since we wanted to go outside and watch the fireworks, we bundled him up really tight! He was so tired, he didn't care at all when they went off.

Various relatives running around, getting ready to start the fireworks.

Uncle Bruce's backyard at the Holloway Farm.

Matt and Andrew. Rulers of the kingdom of Blank Looks.

Yay! I'm cute!

Here is a video of them playing. CUTE!!! They were both tired, but we got quite a bit of good video. Enjoy!
Here's another Sean took without my knowledge. Don't wake the babies!!!!

We went to Brenda's, and it was cool. Isis, our long lost cat, was so happy to see us! Here she is saying "I love you" to the camera.

Our happy kitty!

She really likes the camera. And loud noises.
Last but not least, today I did some serious grocery shopping, cleaned the fridge and freezer, and began the process of making Joey's old room the computer room. First thing, I got a new desk because my old one was broken in several places and extremely unstable and not good for a soon to be Tarzan baby.

Yay! New desk! BAD CAT!!!

Think there's nothing there?

Voila! THINK AGAIN! AHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! Yay! Cool hideaway thingie!
Ahem. Yes. Anyway. Still have to take apart the old desk and throw it away. Time for my bedroom to actually just be a bedroom. Yay!
Okay, time for me to be heading to bed. Matt is still getting adjusted to the time change, which means he'll be up bright and early. Goodnight!
