My queue on Netflix is running low, and I was wondering if I could have some suggestions for some good movies to order. I'm not a big movie buff, and I'm lost in a sea of titles! Help!
Here's a bunch, some of which you've likely seen. Serious drama, funny comedy, black humor, or just plain interesting.
Slums of Beverly Hills Gladiator Annie Hall Once Maria Full of Grace American Pie This is Spinal Tap Almost Famous Breaking Away This Filthy World The Godfather The Sopranos Harold and Maude Lost in Translation Taxi Driver One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest A Clockwork Orange Life is Beautiful Reservoir Dogs Goodfellas Unforgiven American Splendor Fargo Pulp Fiction
Good luck with the surgery! Good idea to have movies queued up. I still say, check out the TV series "Dexter," available on disc. I am enjoying "Lost" on disc, but maybe you've already seen that. Brian and I just started "The Wire." I'm not much for police dramas, but this looks like it could have a lot of good intrigue.
"The Departed" was a hell of a good movie, too. Also "30 Rock" on disc totally cracked us up. Also the Bourne movies were excellent -- the last one was "eh" (unless you love action, cause that aspect was wonderful), but the others were multi-dimensionally non-"eh." Speaking of Franke Potente, there's always "Run, Lola, Run," which is very fun.
On the girlie movie side, I liked "Bridget Jones' Diary" a lot (but of course, I made it into my 30's without a husband or a kid -- maybe I related to it more than you will!), and "Love Actually." Speaking of movies with Hugh Grant, "About a Boy," was really good too. Oh, and "My Best Friend's Wedding" was actually a really fun movie.
I just watched a good chick flick called "Dead Letter Office". Also, try: Unstable Fables: 3 Pigs and a Baby In the Land of Women Children of Men Eastern Promises Stardust (2007) Happily N'Ever After 30 Days of Night The Dead Girl That should get you started. Love, Mom
Sixth Sense Dog Day Afternoon Super Size Me The Devil Wears Prada United 93 Million Dollar Baby A Beautiful Mind Braveheart Forrest Gump Schindler's List Silence of the Lambs Dances with Wolves Driving Miss Daisy Rain Man Full Metal Jacket Platoon The Deer Hunter Rocky The Sting Patton West Side Story
Do not rent anything with "Earnest" in the title, it will hurt your brain.
I am 23 years old, work full time as a dog groomer, am married and have a son named Matthew! I live in a zoo which is currently displaying: 1 cat; Nino,
2 dogs; Mai and Ebony,
my house gecko, Trumble,
and my Sometimes Green Anole, Tumble.
They all have their unique qualities:
Mai has OCD,
Ebony is bipolar,
Nino is a queen,
Trumble is a binge eater,
and Tumble has ego issues.
They all coexist peacefully...
I love to read, particularly science fiction novels. I enjoy going to interesting places and being outside! Most of all, I love my new family and look forward to the distant future...a future where babies do not puke on you and think it's hilarious, and where, one day, I may actually solve a Rubik's Cube. I said DISTANT future.
